…How do you lose half a video? No, I’m genuinely curious how that is possible.
It’s rare, but there have been tons of scenarios where it happens. For example, if the video wasn’t filmed all in one take, the first video file could be overwritten, or between swapping of SD cards it could get forgotten or lost. If you remember the Lili sets with Jaina as another example, some videos had to be filmed with a backup camera because of errors or running out of storage on the card (I forget which, it was almost 10 years ago). I could have misplaced it, but I’ve checked both the primary and backup drive and it wasn’t there, which leads me to believe it wasn’t ever sent and got lost / overwritten. But if I find it, it will get sent. This video was cut into two parts, I know because the video file number got skipped and this is the only one that remained. Why it got cut into two parts, I don’t know, but it has happened many times.
Thanks for the detailed response and information, TM. It’s very unfortunate, and this was something I was always afraid of to be honest. There is not a lot of good that can come from waiting 10+ years to release something, I’m sorry, but it’s just the truth. Things can get lost, forgotten about, like you said, and it’s a real shame. Even if there was / is an entirely unrelated reason for it’s disappearance, it’s such a long time ago that there’s no way you could possibly remember.
I know there are more missing Lili sets, and it leaves me gutted thinking that they may never be found as well. I could literally name them off one by one from each session right now because I have spent that much time and effort learning all of this myself over the years. I could go on and on about this, but it doesn’t really help anything. Please, just do your best to find everything you can.
The saga of Lili has had a lot of highs and lows for me over the years, and admittedly right now I’m on quite a bit of a low. I hope you saw my last email and can get back to me soon, TM.
How unfair is it of me to have her as the top shelf gage I judge all other women from? Physical appearance I mean. She will always be as good as it gets for me. Absolute perfection!
Data being paramount to your business, always have a plan B – B being backup, yeah I know bit late now and times have changed a lot in 10 years, I imagine you have gotten better at this over time too, live & learn. 🙂
